Dehradun: Uttarakhand Congress leader Suryakant Dhasmana, whose ‘Lord Krishna sent corona’ comment created a huge controversy, on Monday, clarified saying his statement was misconstrued.
Explaining his side of the story, Dhasmana said, “In Gita, it is written that Lord Krishna said that I am the maker and the destroyer. So wherever I go, I give the example of Lord Krishna and I just said that did coronavirus come without the will of God? Whatever happens in this world, it happens under the watch of God.”
Reports say that the Uttarakhand Congress leader also said that both COVID-19 and Kord Krishna begin with the word ‘K’.
Dhasmana’s comment invited sharp reactions on Twitter with Twitteratis slamming him for linking the Covid-19 pandemic with ‘Gods’.
According to the union ministry of health and family welfare, Uttarakhand has recorded 2,823 COVID-19 cases. As per the Centre’s 8 am update, there are 767 active corona cases, 2,018 people have been cured/discharged. 39 people have succumbed the deadly contagious disease.
